Jingxuan He, PhD student
Jingxuan is a second-year PhD student in Biostatistics since 2019. She is currently working on the LUCID project where she integrates the current LUCID model with a recently proposed selection algorithm, xtune. She received her MS in Biostatistics from Columbia University and BS in Life Science from Wuhan University, Hubei, China.
Jiayi (Sylvia) Shen, PhD student
Sylvia is a first-year PhD student in Biostatistics since 2020. She is currently working on the JAM project where she extends the JAM framework into a multi-ethnicity and/or multi-studies setting. She received her MS in Biostatistics from Columbia University and BS in University College London, London, UK.
Abigail Horn, Post-Doctoral Scholar
Abigail is a post-Doc scholar in Conti’s lab. She is currently working on estimating subpopulation-stratified probabilities of severe illness and the CFR (as deaths over observed infections) and IFR (as deaths over estimated total infections) using available data on the prevalence of COVID-19 risk factors (age, comorbidities, BMI, smoking status) in subpopulations, and epidemic dynamics at the population level and stratified by age. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute for Data, Systems and Society at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Bachelor’s in Physics from the College of Creative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
